COMPTROLLER for an acute care medical center reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.
POSITION SUMMARY: Provides overall financial leadership for activities resulting in accurate and complete accounting and financial reporting. Directs the accounting, payroll, and accounts payable services of the organization. Assures hospital compliance with federal, state and local government laws and regulations, accrediting agency standards and hospital policies and procedures, rules and regulations.
Responsible for Month end close and financial reporting, operational and capital financial planning, budgeting, cost reporting, tax reporting, auditing, policies and procedures, and cash management functions.
Performs monthly and quarterly budget variance analysis and forecasts to ensure financial obligations are met; provides explanations for material variances; escalates issues to unified administrator; partners with stakeholders to develop and execute a correction plan.
Will lead the development and maintenance of comprehensive financial and operational reporting including, but not limited to performance summaries, revenue and expense forecasts, and P&L statements.
Provides leadership and training and performance management for employees. Acts as a strategic partner to senior leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS: CPA preferred. Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. A Minimum of 7 years accounting and 5 years management experience required and experience in healthcare industry preferred. Experience with Meditech GL system preferred and strong MS-Excel skills required.
