At the RLS Hospital, it is always are endeavor to help you get better. But there is only so much
a hospital can do. After all tests and examinations have been done, it is you who can provide us with
the feedback that will chart the course of treatment. After all, who could know your body better!
Which brings us to the important aspect of patient responsibilities. As a patient here, there are a
few responsibilities you have. And you must follow these for your own good. Your responsibilities include:
- To provide accurate and complete information about your present complaints, past illnesses, hospitalizations,
medications and other matters relating to your health
- To report unexpected changes in your condition to the responsible practitioner
- For making it known whether you clearly understand the proposed course of action and what is expected of you
- To follow the treatment plan recommended by the practitoner primarily responsible for your care. This may include
following the instructions of nurses and allied health personnel
- To follow the applicable hospital rules and regulations, as enforced by the nurses and allied health personnel, under
the orders of the responsible practitioner
- To keep your appointments, and when you are unable to do so for any reason, to notify the responsible practitioner
or the hospital
Additionally, you will also be responsible for:
- Your actions, if you refuse treatment or don't follow the practitioner's instructions
- Assuring that the financial obligations of your health care are fulfilled as promptly as possible.
- Being considerate to the rights of other patients and hospital personnel and for assisting in the control of noise,
smoking and number of visitors
- Being respectful towards the property of the hospital and other patients
- Following the rules and regulations affecting patient care and conduct
- Using hospital supplies appropriately and assisting in their availability to future patients
- Loss or damage to hospital property
