Director of Health Information Management
This director is responsible for all aspects related to management of patient data to include coding, abstracting, transcription, discharge processing, release of information, chart retrieval, filing, indexing and completion. Additionally responsible for oversight of the CDM maintenance, auditing and statistical reporting that directly impacts quality, production, reimbursement and customer service. Responsible for maintaining policies and procedures in line with requirements of all government, accrediting and regulatory agencies to include CMS, DOH and The Joint Commission. This oversight involves planning, organizing, directing and monitoring all the operational functions within the assigned departments.
Duties include all normal management responsibilities including recommendation for the purchase of equipment, software and supplies. Also, training, hiring, mentoring and evaluating employees in a timely manner. Additionally, these activities are carried out by developing and maintaining processes to monitor and report productivity, budget preparation & maintenance and overall department performance. The Director will provide updates to Administration regarding potential compliance issues and deficiencies in documentation to support services. The Director will also provide routine education for staff and physicians to support compliance and reimbursement.

Health Information Management (HIM) Clinical Coder
The HIM Clinical Coder position is responsible for coding and abstracting all Department and other clinic encounters using ICD-9, CPT4, HCPCS, and modifiers. This position enters all charges and E&M codes for accuracy against the documentation in the medical record. Records are reviewed for appropriate documentation, signatures, dates, and to ensure all appropriate forms are present. This person assumes responsibility and accountability for the duties and is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives, and policies of the Schneider Regional Medical Center and will be reporting to the Director of Medical Records (HIM).
