This person assumes responsibility and accountability for the duties of the position and is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives, and policies of the Schneider Regional Medical Center and their respective Department. Demonstrated clinical competence in critical thinking and in the performance of clinical skills applicable to the Emergency Room (cardiac monitoring, recognition and treatment of heart arrhythmias, cardiac drip titration, etc). Documents assessments which accurately determines the patient’s condition and reflects knowledge of current nursing practice standards. Documents a comprehensive, goal-oriented plan of care which is outcome based and meets the patient’s needs throughout the course of treatment. Consistently identifies and reports significant changes / abnormal findings to the physician/charge nurse/Clinical Care Coordinator and responds appropriately. Implements patient and family teaching based on plan of care, identified and anticipated needs and discharge plan. Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to the hospital’s emergency plan, codes, policies and procedures and responds accordingly to the situation. Consistently coordinates accurate transfer of pertinent patient information to other members of the health care team utilizing the accepted “hand-Off” guidelines. Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. Must be knowledgeable and comfortable working with computers.
