This person assumes responsibility and accountability for the duties of the position and is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives, and policies of the Schneider Regional Medical Center and their respective Department. Collects data through observation based on knowledge of psychiatric nursing and theories. Uses problems solving in developing a psychiatric nursing care plan. Promotes the realization of optimal health in individuals through health teach. Goal directed when interacting with clients and family. Modifies the environment to establish and maintain therapeutic milieu. Participates with members of the multidisciplinary team in assessing planning, implementing, and evaluating a care plan for clients. Practices as an accountable health care professional in providing psychiatric care i.e. correct treatment, correct medication, and accurate documentation. Accepts basic leadership roles and responsibilities which includes and not limited to, teaching ancillary and other staff members to meet the needs of clients, acts as a role model. Current AHA BLS certification. Must be knowledgeable and comfortable working with computers.
